After Rashmika Mandanna and Katrina Kaif, Kajol is the latest actor to be targeted by deepfake videos. In the past month, the internet has seen a significant rise in these videos, a tech trend that blurs the boundary between what’s real and what’s not. A deepfake video featuring Kajol has gone viral on various social media platforms.
KAJOL’S DEEPFAKE VIDEO GOES VIRAL
This new video adds to the rising worries about deepfake technology following the viral clip of another well-known actor, Rashmika Mandanna.
The manipulated video replaces Breen’s face with that of Kajol, depicting the ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ actor changing clothes on camera.
According to the fact-checking platform BOOM, the original video belonged to a social media influencer, and Kajol’s face was manipulated into the video.
Briefly, the manipulated video displays the face of the original woman. The report states that the authentic video was posted on TikTok on June 5 as part of the “Get Ready With Me” (GRWM) trend.
The increasing concerns about the misuse of deepfake technology have become more serious with the circulation of manipulated content involving other well-known celebrities like Rashmika Mandanna and Katrina Kaif.
