“As of now, even a healthy and stable persons can’t handle the ongoing heat wave and the government is putting pressure on students to attend the classes during the scorching weather,” Another parent said.

Pertinently, on July-28, division administration of Kashmir had ordered suspension of class work for students upto primary level in both government and private schools on July-29 and 30.

However, on Saturday the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) changed school timing in the Kashmir division.

According to the official orders in this regard, the new timing for school falling within Srinagar Municipal limits will be 9Am to 3Pm while the educational institutes falling outside Municipal limits of Srinagar District and other areas of Kashmir Province shall remain open from 10Am to 4Pm.
