The J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) received the Indents dated 02.07.2021 and 23.11.2021 from the Home Department for making direct recruitment to the 1200 Posts of Sub-Inspector, Police, UT Cadre, with the following category-wise break-up:
- OM: 600
- SC: 96
- ST: 120
- OSC: 48
- ALC: 48
- RBA: 120
- PSP: 48
- EWS: 120
Total Posts: 1200
Whereas, the aforesaid posts were advertised by the Board vide Notification No. 06 of 2021 dated 21.10.2021, read with Notice No. SSB/Secy//2021/7926-42 dated 24.11.2021, for seeking applications from the eligible candidates; and
Whereas, in terms of the notified criteria, the selection for these posts was to be made on the basis of the Written Test, followed by Physical Standard Test(PST)/Physical Endurance Test(PET), with additional weight-age assigned to the candidates in possession of NCC Certificates; and

Whereas, the JKSSB conducted the Computer Based Written Test (CBT) for the aforesaid 1200 posts of Sub-Inspector, Police (Home Department), UT Cadre w.e.f. 07.12.2022 to 20.12.2022 in multiple shifts. Pursuant to this, the Result/Score-sheet for the said examination was notified vide No. JKSSB COEOEXAM(UT)/54/2022-03 (7057013) dated 03.11.2023; and
Whereas, this was followed by holding of the Physical Standard Test(PST)/Physical Endurance Test(PET) of the shortlisted candidates and subsequent Document Verification of the candidates falling in the consideration. zone, both at Jammu and Srinagar; and
Whereas, the JKSSB, vide Office Order No. 323-SSB of 2023 dated 22.12.2023, constituted the Selection Committee for preparing the selection for these posts. Pertinently, among the 1200 posts so advertised, 72 posts are earmarked to the Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates under Horizontal Reservation, while the Persons with Disabilities are not considered eligible/suitable for the posts of Sub-Inspector, Police (Home Department); and
Whereas, the Provisional Selection List, as prepared by the concerned Selection Committee for the aforesaid posts, as per the merit and eligibility of the candidates was placed before the Board in its 251 Meeting held on 29.12.2023, which after deliberations, approved the proposal for notifying the Provisional Selection.
Now, therefore, the Provisional Selection List of the candidates selected for the posts of Sub-Inspector, Police (Home Department), UT Cadre, advertised vide Notification No. 06 of 2021 dated 21.10.2021, read with Notice No. SSB/Secy//2021/7926-42 dated 24.11.2021, is hereby notified as per Annexure-A to this Notification.
It is further notified that:
- This Provisional Selection List shall be subject to outcome of the OAs/Writ Petition(s), if any, pending in the competent court of law.
- This shall also be subject to the outcome of any pending enquiry, involving candidate(s), figuring in this Provisional Selection List.
- This is a Provisional List and shall be subject to the change(s) as per the objections as may be received against it and mere figuring in it shall not confer any right to selection, which shall be finalized after examination of the objections based on merit.
- In case any candidate/s is aggrieved with this Provisional Selection List or desires to submit any documents/certificates w.r.t. to his/her withheld recommendation, he/she may represent through the email address sihome1200@gmail.com within five days from the date of this Notification, beyond which no representations whatsoever shall be entertained. The e- mail in this regard shall necessarily include complete details of the candidate including Name, Address, Roll Number and Contact Number.
- The candidates, as figuring in Annexure-B to this Notification, shall report to the Medical Board at respective District Hospital/GMC, as per the details indicated against each, for their Medical Examination w.e.f. 30.12.2023. The Ex-Servicemen candidates shall also produce their Discharge Book before the respective Medical Board.
- Mere calling for medical examination shall not confer any right to selection to the candidates.
