Anantnag, Aug 27 (Indian Express): Congress candidate from the Dooru Assembly constituency, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, has sharply criticized the BJP, expressing concern over the absence of representation from Jammu and Kashmir for the past 11 years.

Speaking at a public gathering in Anantnag, Mir highlighted the frustration and hardships faced by the people of J&K due to what he described as the oppressive actions of the BJP and the central government. He lamented that the region has been deprived of proper representation for over a decade.

Mir also made a strong appeal for the restoration of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir, aligning with the broader demands of the INDIA alliance. He stressed the importance of allowing the people to elect their own representatives, noting that the residents of J&K are eager to engage in the democratic process and form a government that reflects their choices.

“The BJP is frustrated by the unity within the INDIA alliance here,” Mir remarked, underlining the growing strength of the opposition in the region.
